The Kung Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Research Scientist who is highly motivated and proficient in various molecular and cellular biology techniques. This position is pivotal in advancing our understanding of cancer genetics and epigenetics, particularly in the context of pediatric malignancies. The successful candidate will lead the development and evaluation of cell therapy-based approaches, with a focus on translating promising constructs into clinical applications for treating pediatric cancer. The lab, under the direction of Dr. Andrew Kung, is located in the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Research Center and is dedicated to translational research. The overarching goal of the lab is to credential new therapeutic targets, identify molecular biomarkers of response, and validate targeted therapeutic strategies for pediatric cancers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cancer biology research, evidenced by a solid publication record, including first author peer-reviewed publications. Candidates with experience in cellular therapy development, such as CAR-T, BiTE, or TCR, are highly desired. Additionally, familiarity with next-generation sequencing techniques (WGS, RNAseq, ChIP-seq), gene editing technologies (CRISPR), and mouse cancer models (transgenic or xenograft models) will be advantageous. Excellent communication and writing skills are essential for this role, as the candidate will be expected to contribute to scientific publications and collaborate effectively within the research team.
