About the position

OPS Consulting is seeking an experienced Research Scientist Level 2 to join our team in Baltimore, MD, or College Park, MD. The Research Scientist will play a crucial role in evaluating and providing expert advice on the application of scientific principles and concepts. This position requires a deep understanding of state-of-the-art principles and theories, as well as a commitment to staying current with the scientific literature and attending relevant conferences. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing scientific studies, applying scientific principles to potential inventions and products, and may also participate in the development of intellectual property. Additionally, the Research Scientist will plan laboratory research and may coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide expert advice on the application of scientific principles and concepts.
• Design, develop, and execute scientific studies.
• Apply scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products.
• Participate in the development of intellectual property.
• Plan laboratory research activities.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activities and research.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Physics with 9+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience; or a Ph.D. with 4+ years of experience.
• Current government security clearance, background investigation, and polygraph.
