About the position

The Research Scientist - Machine Learning position at Peraton Labs involves conducting innovative research in machine learning and signal processing, particularly in the context of Radio Frequency (RF) systems. The role is designed for entry to mid-level candidates with a strong technical background and a desire to learn and grow within a collaborative team focused on cybersecurity and advanced technology solutions for government and commercial clients.

Responsibilities

• Conducting Radio Frequency (RF) machine learning research or developing signal processing algorithms for wireless systems
• Communicating the results of research through customer presentations and publications
• Writing design documents, simulation reports, and system documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years, or Ph.D. with 0 years in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience coding in Python, C, C++, and/or MATLAB
• Interest and/or experience in digital signal processing, RF software engineering, algorithm development, software defined radio, and machine learning
• Experience with modern machine learning development frameworks and platforms (e.g., Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Active TS/SCI Poly security clearance

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with common software defined radio platforms (e.g., Ettus USRPs) and software (e.g., GNU Radio)
• Familiarity with Open Air Interface (OAI) or srsLTE software stacks
• Familiarity with multiple-antenna or distributed signal processing techniques
• Knowledge of LTE standards
