About the position

The Research Scientist position at Eqlipse Technologies LLC focuses on advancing research in polymer physics and machine learning within the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop predictive models aimed at accelerating the design of novel polymer materials for defense applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research as part of the computational polymer physics research team.
  • Utilize polymer physics and phase-field modeling to understand multicomponent polymer solutions.
  • Leverage advanced machine learning techniques to develop predictive models for phase diagrams.
  • Explore microstructure evolution at various times and length scales using simulations.
  • Collaborate with AFRL scientists, professors, students, and industry partners.
  • Communicate research findings effectively through oral and written presentations.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • 0-1 year of experience in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in numerical methods and simulations, preferably with phase-field modeling.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
