About the position

As a Research Scientist in Reinforcement Learning at ByteDance, you will be at the forefront of developing state-of-the-art algorithms that push the boundaries of artificial intelligence. Your primary focus will be on exploring and developing large-scale language models, optimizing enterprise applications, and implementing relevant applications such as content generation, reasoning, and code generation. Responsibilities

• Conduct research and develop state-of-the-art algorithms in various applications of reinforcement learning.
• Collaborate with software engineers and research scientists to build enterprise-level platforms with cutting-edge RL models.
• Collaborate with open-source communities or academia to advance AI development.

Requirements

• Experience in reinforcement learning or its applications to NLP, robotics, recommender systems, etc.
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Java.
• Publication of top-tier conference papers (e.g., ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICRA, KDD) or relevant internship experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with large-scale language models and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with data construction, instruction tuning, and preference alignment.
