About the position

The Research Scientist/Research Associate position at the Center for Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology, and Infection at Rosalind Franklin University involves studying the molecular mechanisms of HIV infection and pathogenesis in the central nervous system. The role requires independent research, data analysis, and collaboration with graduate students, contributing to the lab's research programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead independent research projects in an unsupervised manner and conduct experiments contributing to the lab's research programs
  • Unsupervised planning, execution, data collection, analyses, and preparation of manuscripts
  • Train and nurture incoming graduate students
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Conduct specific research activities independently, including working with mice, collecting and analyzing biological samples, and managing mouse colonies
  • Utilize major cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques
  • Demonstrate exceptional organization skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and data analysis software.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in biology, biomedical science, or related fields
  • Experience working with viruses and their propagation
  • Experience working with mice
  • At least 1 primary author publication
