About the position

The Research Scientist position at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence focuses on enhancing the productivity and discovery experience of scholars using Semantic Scholar. Responsibilities

• Conduct high-impact research and lead research projects.
• Author scientific papers for publication in high-profile computing conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with and learn from team members across AI2, including scientists and engineers.
• Mentor early-career researchers and interns on their projects.
• Implement and share open source software to improve access to research.
• Develop collaborative relationships with academic, industrial, government, and standards organizations.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science or related field, or nearing completion of a PhD.
• Strong publication record in AI-related areas, with experience in venues like ACL, CHI, ICLR, EMNLP, SIGIR, KDD, WWW, CVPR, NeurIPS, and ICML.
• Strong software engineering skills, with experience in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Nice-to-haves

• Contributions to open-source research libraries like AllenNLP or spaCy.
