About the position

The Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist in Cell Line Development at Incyte is responsible for developing commercially viable cell lines for the production of therapeutic recombinant proteins, including monoclonal and bispecific antibodies. This role involves executing experiments, managing laboratory supplies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations while contributing to the advancement of innovative biopharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute experiments to support cell line development, including linearizing plasmid DNA, transfecting CHO cells, routing cell passaging and maintenance, and secure freezing.
  • Execute transfection and selection of transfected cell lines.
  • Design and conduct high throughput assays to screen mAb or BsAb clones, ensuring production, product quality, and genetic stability of cell lines.
  • Operate Ambr 15 Fed-batch study to evaluate pools and clones.
  • Ensure clone monoclonality meets regulatory expectations.
  • Create and maintain research cell banks.
  • Oversee Master and Working Cell Banks manufactured and tested at Contract Labs.
  • Manage laboratory supplies and instrument maintenance.
  • Participate and present updates in routine group meetings.
  • Ensure all work is appropriately documented in electronic lab notebook and reports are written in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of hands-on experience in cell culture for biologics.
  • Master's degree with 1-3 years of experience in molecular or cell biology, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2 years' experience in CHO cell culture work, with aseptic techniques required.
  • Experience in CHO cell culture and transfection.
  • Experience with high throughput techniques in 384 and/or 96 well plate format such as: Octet, ELISA, Guava, ProA Spin-Column purification.
  • Experience with automated liquid handler is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical Design of Experiment is a plus.
  • Effective planning skills; ability to anticipate resource needs and help establish priorities.
  • Ability to develop effective, flexible relationships with others; understands the business agendas and perspectives of others; recognizes and effectively balances the interests and needs within the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated liquid handler is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical Design of Experiment is a plus.
