We are seeking a creative, skilled, and motivated Research Scientist to join our machine perception team. This role is pivotal in advancing the state-of-the-art in human understanding, action recognition, and statistical text decoding. As a Research Scientist, you will collaborate with a diverse team of research scientists, software engineers, and hardware engineers to design and implement technical solutions in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. In this position, you will contribute to and apply research that enhances Meta products by developing novel input technologies for virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR), and augmented reality (AR) systems, leveraging your expertise in computer vision and machine learning. You will be responsible for designing and prototyping interactive experiences, evaluating them through user research, and creating data collection systems to accelerate machine learning processes. Your collaboration across teams will be essential in developing concepts that advance the entire product pipeline, encompassing hardware, software, data collection, and machine learning. This role requires a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of machine perception, as well as the ability to innovate and extend research ideas to new problem domains. You will be expected to engage in cross-group and cross-culture collaboration, ensuring that your contributions are impactful and aligned with Meta's mission to build technologies that connect people and foster community.
