About the position

As a Researcher at Sierra, you will collaborate with the Research team to advance Sierra's AI technology. Your role will involve building and evolving the AI platform, developing innovative models and techniques, and contributing to the research community through publications and participation in conferences. You will leverage your expertise in AI/ML to influence product development and enhance customer service experiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Research team to advance AI technology at Sierra.
• Build and evolve Sierra's AI platform in collaboration with other teams.
• Develop new models and techniques to solve real-world challenges using AI/ML.
• Influence the product roadmap and research direction with unique datasets and computing resources.
• Contribute to the research community by publishing findings and participating in conferences.

Requirements

• Deep experience in modern machine learning methods related to natural language processing and decision-making.
• Ability to define new research directions and perform breakthrough research in AI.
• Published work at top conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, and CVPR.
• Strong collaboration skills with internal and external partners in research and business.
• Practical skills using modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, Weights and Biases, Deepspeed, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Minimum BS Degree in Computer Science or related field; PhD or Masters preferred or demonstrated research experience through publications or open-source projects.

Nice-to-haves

• 3-4 years of AI/ML experience in industry.
