About the position

The Research Scientist plays a crucial role in leading mixed-methods research initiatives aimed at enhancing student outcomes. This position requires expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a focus on integrating these approaches to tackle complex research questions. The Research Scientist will supervise research analysts, ensuring methodological rigor and guiding data-driven projects that align with institutional goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of mixed-methods research projects.
  • Develop and refine research questions, hypotheses, and study designs.
  • Strategize the use of AI-enhanced tools in research activities.
  • Conduct and collaborate on qualitative research activities such as focus groups and interviews.
  • Apply advanced qualitative analysis techniques to derive insights from data.
  • Design and execute quantitative studies to measure student success indicators.
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques to interpret complex data sets.
  • Integrate qualitative and quantitative data for comprehensive insights.
  • Develop mixed-methods research reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Supervise research analysts and guide their professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research with institutional priorities.
  • Represent the research team in institutional meetings and presentations.
  • Stay current with advancements in mixed-methods research and AI.
  • Publish and present research findings in academic forums.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Educational Research, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field with a focus on mixed-methods research.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in leading mixed-methods research.
  • Extensive experience with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AI technologies in research methodologies.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring research staff is desirable.
  • Experience in institutional research or similar roles preferred.
  • Previous experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education research is a plus.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical software and tools.
