About the position

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rush University Medical Center is seeking applications for a Research Scientist who will support the Chair of the Department in the continued expansion of the OBGYN Research Program. This position is critical for advancing research initiatives aimed at decreasing reproductive health disparities and enhancing health equity. The ideal candidate will be passionate about conducting complex reproductive health research and will be responsible for planning and directing both qualitative and quantitative analyses relevant to Obstetrics and Gynecology and its subspecialties, including Complex Family Planning, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Urogynecology. The Research Scientist will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of research projects, ensuring that they align with the department's goals and objectives. This individual will also be expected to engage in scholarly activities, which include publishing peer-reviewed articles, presenting research findings at conferences, and mentoring faculty members. The position requires a strong background in grant-funded research, as well as experience in leading research teams and collaborating with other departments and institutions. Candidates should possess a robust understanding of reproductive health issues and be able to apply their expertise to address health disparities. The department is looking for experienced researchers who can contribute to the academic environment and foster a culture of inquiry and innovation. Ideal candidates will hold an MD/DO and be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology, or possess a PhD with training in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chair of the Department in expanding the OBGYN Research Program.

Requirements
