About the position

The Department of Biology at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking applications for Research Scientists/Scholars at various levels (I, II, III, or Senior) to join its open pool of candidates. This position is designed for PhD-level scientists interested in temporary or special research roles within the department. The Department of Biology is renowned for its commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, with a strong focus on a wide range of biological disciplines including cell and molecular biology, physiology, ecology, evolutionary biology, and computational biology. Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research in the field of biology.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in a relevant field is required for all levels.
  • Level I: Generally within three years of receiving a Ph.D. with significant professional accomplishments.
  • Level II: Three to seven years of experience beyond the Ph.D. with very significant professional accomplishments.
  • Level III: More than seven years of experience beyond the Ph.D. with very significant professional accomplishments.
  • Senior level: Outstanding, sustained, and extraordinary professional accomplishments with professional leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and experience in cell and molecular biology.
  • Experience in physiology of plants or animals.
  • Familiarity with animal behavior studies.
  • Background in ecology and evolutionary biology.
  • Experience in computational or theoretical biology.
