About the position

The Research Security Analyst at the University of Missouri-Columbia will support the Research Security Officers across the UM System by developing Standard Operating Procedures for Research Security Programs. The role involves maintaining knowledge of federal requirements and collaborating with various departments to conduct thorough reviews related to disclosures. The position may allow for remote work, although in-person attendance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures for Research Security Programs across the UM System.
  • Collaborate with Research Security Officers at each university within the UM System.
  • Maintain familiarity with NSPM-33, the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, and other federal agency requirements.
  • Conduct deep dive reviews related to disclosures to the University and federal sponsors.
  • Work closely with departments like Conflict of Interest and Sponsored Programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in research compliance, export controls, or related fields.
  • Ability to access export controlled information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in export controls, legal services, research compliance, research administration, and/or higher education.
