About the position

The UM System Research Security Analyst will support all universities within the UM System by collaborating with Research Security Officers and the Director of Research Security and Compliance to develop Standard Operating Procedures for Research Security Programs. The role involves maintaining familiarity with federal requirements and conducting reviews related to disclosures to the University and federal sponsors. The position may require access to export controlled information and offers flexibility for remote work for suitable candidates.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures for Research Security Programs across the UM System.
• Collaborate with Research Security Officers at each university within the UM System.
• Maintain familiarity with NSPM-33, the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, and other federal agency requirements.
• Conduct deep dive reviews related to disclosures to the University and federal sponsors.
• Work closely with departments like Conflict of Interest and Sponsored Programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in research compliance, research administration, or higher education.
• Ability to access export controlled information.
