About the position

The Research Specialist I position at Florida International University focuses on supporting multiple research studies in public health and social work. Responsibilities

  • Conduct neuropsychological evaluations and clinical trial assessments.
  • Oversee operations of ongoing research projects.
  • Assist with recruitment and retention efforts for research studies.
  • Collect and handle biospecimen samples such as blood, urine, and fecal samples.
  • Administer study measures including questionnaires and surveys.
  • Conduct study interventions and neuropsychological assessments.
  • Coordinate routine activities of clinical trials including screening and scheduling.
  • Perform data entry and quality control checks on collected data.
  • Evaluate research plans, identify problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Assist senior staff with preparation of study reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
  • May supervise student interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four years of experience, or a Master's degree and two years of experience.
  • Knowledge of research ethics and Institutional Review Board (IRB) results and policies.
  • Practical knowledge of neuropsychological and psychometric testing and assessments.
  • Skills in interacting with individuals with mental health disorders, including depression and cognitive impairment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with populations such as the LBGTQA+ community and those living with HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
  • Familiarity with substance use disorders and minoritized communities.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $55,000 - $60,000.
  • Full-time employment with a structured work schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
