About the position

The Research Study Coordinator will support the Evaluation Program at the Buehler Center for Health Policy and Economics by conducting mother-toddler assessments as part of a longitudinal research study. This role involves developing a sensor-based machine learning algorithm for toddler activity recognition and evaluating health behaviors of mothers and toddlers. The position requires flexibility, including potential weekend work, and allows for a hybrid work environment with both in-office and remote options.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the planning and conduct of research study including participant recruitment and retention.
  • Obtains informed consent from study participants.
  • Administers tests and/or questionnaires following established protocols.
  • Collects, compiles, tabulates, and processes responses from participants.
  • Gathers relevant information for the study.
  • Records, reviews, and summarizes research data.
  • Prepares reports for investigators and sponsors on recruitment status and other pertinent study data.
  • Processes payments for research participants as per study protocol.
  • Coordinates reimbursements for expert panel travel and consultant pay.
  • May provide work direction and/or train other research staff.
  • Acts as a mentor for junior coordinators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social or health science or related field, or appropriate combination of education and experience with 2 years of relevant research experience.
  • Master's degree in social or health science or related field, or appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with participants, with re-certification every 3 years.
  • Prior experience working on a human subjects research study.
  • Excellent organizational, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow a protocol and work as part of a team.
