About the position

The Bioinformatics Research Analyst position at Cornell University involves working within the Integration Initiative: Sex, Aging, Genomics, and Evolution (IISAGE). Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement software for genome analysis.
  • Manage data and develop pipelines for genomic research.

Requirements

  • BS in bioinformatics, computational sciences, genomics, or related area.
  • Experience in programming related to bioinformatics and genomics.
  • Working knowledge of common bioinformatics tools and publicly available sequence databases.
  • Proficiency in Perl, R, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Expertise in MySQL or another database management system.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with peers, students, and employees.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree with at least three years of experience in NGS data analysis, computational biology, and bioinformatics.
