About the position
The Research Technician position in the Division of Neurology at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) involves supporting research on epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disorders. Responsibilities
- Learn and independently perform research procedures
- Maintain appropriate log and lab notebooks
- Plan and modify research protocols and procedures
- Maintain mouse colony and perform genotyping
- Conduct cell culture
- Prepare laboratory reagents and monitor laboratory inventory
- Supervise, train, and mentor undergraduate students and new staff members
- Determine work assignments, schedules, and laboratory priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- At least three (3) years of directly relevant post-graduate scientific lab experience
Nice-to-haves
- At least five (5) years of directly relevant post-graduate scientific lab experience preferred
- Specific prior experience with animal handling and surgeries such as stereotaxic injection
- Experience in histology/immunohistochemistry
