About the position

The University of Louisville's Pediatric Research Institute is seeking a Researcher to investigate the molecular mechanisms of diabetes-induced cardiovascular complications. This full-time position involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and preparing reports and presentations, utilizing advanced techniques in a laboratory setting supported by NIH grants.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and organize biochemical, physiological, morphological, and histochemical studies.
  • Perform data collection and analysis on specified projects.
  • Write reports and manuscripts, and make presentations.
  • Develop new techniques and conduct statistical analysis of research data.
  • Update research projections and monitor current literature for relevant information.
  • Collect, edit, and present research outcomes.
  • Recommend new ideas for ongoing research lines and advise faculty on funding source guidelines.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in molecular biology, cell biology, pathophysiology, cardiology, and pharmacology.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD, MD, or DVM with 0 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience with metabolic syndrome-associated complications and chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity animal models.
  • Experience in small animal ultrasound imaging, flow cytometry, primary cell culture, and lipid metabolism.
