About the position

FOX Sports is seeking a Researcher to join their dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. This role is pivotal in supporting the production staff by providing essential background information for all show talent. The Researcher will engage in various tasks that include researching topics discussed in editorial meetings, delivering statistical analyses, and creating detailed graphics that are suitable for air. The position requires real-time assistance during talent meetings and live productions, ensuring that all information presented is accurate and engaging. The Researcher will also be responsible for checking chyron graphics and will actively watch games and consult trusted sources to inspire ideas for topics and video content. In this fast-paced environment, the Researcher will enhance show conversations by providing meaningful statistics and information that resonate with the audience. Attending talent meetings is a critical aspect of the role, as it allows the Researcher to provide real-time information and support to the team. The ability to absorb live sports content and leverage trusted sources will be essential in generating ideas that enhance the overall quality of the shows. Additionally, the Researcher will conduct quick checks to eliminate any factual errors from scripts and graphics, ensuring the integrity of the information presented on air.

Responsibilities

  • Research topics discussed in editorial meetings to enhance show conversations with meaningful statistics and information.
  • Attend talent meetings to provide real-time information and support.
  • Absorb live sports and trusted sources to offer ideas and enhance content for show topics and video.
  • Conduct fast checks to eliminate factual errors from scripts and graphics.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience with internet-based research
  • Knowledge of sports and sports celebrities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with talent and deal effectively and politely with difficult situations and diverse personalities
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under daily time constraints in a high-pressure environment
  • Willingness to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends as needed.
