Reservations Agent

About the position

The Reservationist position at The Umstead Hotel & Spa is responsible for providing exceptional service while making reservations for leisure, corporate, and group travelers, as well as for the hotel's signature restaurant, Herons. This full-time role requires collaboration with various departments and involves assisting the Reservations Manager and Revenue Manager with daily responsibilities to align with the hotel's financial strategy.

Responsibilities

• Answering reservation calls for the hotel, restaurant, and spa.
• Entering reservation information into OPERA, OpenTable, or Spasoft.
• Checking department e-mail and responding accordingly.
• Making gift cards via phone and through the online purchasing site.
• Communicating guest preferences and pertinent information to the affected department quickly and clearly.
• Reviewing and monitoring online reservations booked through SynXis to ensure accuracy.
• Providing clear descriptions of hotel features and amenities.
• Maintaining Forbes 5 Star and AAA 5 Diamond quality standards for phone verbiage and etiquette.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
• Experience in a call center setting, hotel reservations preferred.
• Excellent communication skills & etiquette both written and by phone.
• Experience with OPERA and OpenTable preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is needed.
• Ability to type faster than 50 WPM.
