About the position

The Mining Machinery Engineering Residency at Komatsu is a unique two-year project-based learning program designed for recent graduates in Electrical Engineering or related fields. This program offers participants the opportunity to engage in four distinct modules over the course of two years, each focusing on different aspects of the Komatsu Mining business. These modules encompass global product engineering, manufacturing supply chain and operations, sales and service, and international product support. Each module culminates in a presentation to the leadership team, allowing participants to showcase their learning and contributions. In addition to the structured modules, participants will benefit from comprehensive training, including an Underground Product Overview Training, and will receive individual mentoring throughout the program. This hands-on engineering experience provides cradle-to-grave exposure to the products, enabling participants to understand the entire lifecycle of the machinery they will be working with. The program also emphasizes cross-functional experience, which broadens participants' knowledge across various departments within the organization. The residency program is designed to build leadership capabilities and enhance communication skills, fostering ambition and a passion for continuous improvement. By the end of the program, participants will have developed a broad understanding of Komatsu Mining, built a professional network, and gained valuable skills that will be beneficial throughout their careers. They will also have a clearer understanding of their future career paths within the industry.
