About the position
The Resident Assistant / Caregiver position at Cedar Community focuses on providing compassionate care to residents in a memory care assisted living environment. The role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive atmosphere. Responsibilities
- Provide a pleasant, courteous, caring, helpful, and positive atmosphere for guests, residents, and team members.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) by providing guidance, encouragement, and physical assistance as needed.
- Attend and participate in professional education, educational classes, and meetings.
- Respond promptly to call lights or requests from residents and assist team members as needed.
- Ensure the safety of residents at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and protect residents' rights and privacy.
- Respond to resident emergency situations, including bleeding, falls, seizures, and choking, following established protocols.
Requirements
- Valid CNA license (or willingness to obtain one through Cedar Community's free training program).
- Ability to provide physical assistance and support to residents as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with residents and team members.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting residents' rights.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a caregiving or healthcare role, particularly in memory care settings.
- First aid and CPR certification.
