About the position

As a Resident Assistant at Garden Spot Communities, you will play a vital role in supporting the personal care needs of our residents. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing compassionate care and fostering a vibrant community. You will be working in a personal care household, where your primary responsibilities will include assisting residents with their daily activities and personal care needs. This may involve helping with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other personal hygiene tasks. You will also be responsible for encouraging residents to participate in social functions and activities, ensuring they remain active and engaged in the community. In addition to personal care, you will assist with the admission process for new residents, helping them acclimate to their new environment. This includes unpacking, orienting them to the facility, and providing information about scheduled activities and meal times. Your role will also involve responding promptly to resident call bells, assisting during meal times, and documenting vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. You will be expected to make frequent rounds to check on residents' comfort and safety, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained at all times. Responsibilities

  • Encourage residents to remain active and attend social functions and programs.
  • Assist in the implementation of activity programs as needed.
  • Assist in the personal care of the residents, including bathing, continence care, oral hygiene, hair grooming, dressing, and nail care.
  • Help with the admission of new residents, including unpacking and orientation to the room and facility.
  • Respond promptly to resident call bells and assist at meal times as per departmental policy.
  • Document vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and accu checks.
  • Make continuous and frequent rounds to observe and check on residents' comfort and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or a related field is preferable, but not essential.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
  • Diabetic Training (or willingness to obtain after hire).
  • Understanding of and willingness to live out the mission and values of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Med Tech certification is a plus.
