About the position

The Resident Assistant position involves providing essential support to residents in daily activities, including personal care, medication assistance, and participation in meal service and housekeeping tasks. The role requires working some weekends and holidays, and involves direct interaction with residents to ensure their comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Be the primary staff responsible for personal care and medication assistance for assigned residents during shifts.
• Serve meals and perform housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Lead activities for residents and engage them in social interactions.
• Drive residents to and from appointments, shopping, or outside activities when assigned.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties during overnight shifts.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in required training sessions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; certificates preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and cordially with residents, families, and staff.
• Must undergo a criminal background check.
• Current and clean NYS driver's license required for driving duties.
• Must complete a First Aid class and keep it current.
• Annual health reassessment is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a caregiving role or similar environment.
• Certification in First Aid or CPR.
