About the position

The Resident Care Assistant at Ciel Plainfield LLC plays a vital role in providing essential care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This part-time position involves performing various personal care activities, assisting with daily living tasks, and engaging residents in recreational programming, all while adhering to company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of residents.
  • Carry out daily plan of care including all aspects of basic daily living and personal care needs and document appropriately.
  • Execute daily activities for residents as scheduled.
  • Serve and assist residents with meals.
  • Know the location of assigned residents within the community.
  • Listen and respond to the needs of residents and staff members.
  • Monitor residents' general medical condition and report changes to Wellness Leadership.
  • Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of residents.
  • Maintain current and accurate records through use of computers and/or other documentation.
  • Inform the Health and Wellness Director of supply and equipment needs.
  • Attend all-employee and departmental meetings and in-service training as scheduled.
  • Complete routine light housekeeping and laundry tasks for the unit.
  • Assist in maintaining a calm atmosphere.
  • Follow through with all assignments on a timely basis in accordance with chain of command when Health and Wellness Director is not on duty.
  • Report any unusual behavior of a resident to Wellness Leadership.
  • Learn, understand, and maintain residents' rights.
  • Follow established infection control and standard precaution policies, fire, and safety policies.
  • Attend training courses and maintain up to date training through designated Learning Management System (LMS).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred.
  • Valid CPR Certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the English language sufficient to read, write and interpret administrative information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a similar role or environment is preferred.
