About the position

The Resident Coordinator at Charlotte Rescue Mission is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and safety of the substance abuse recovery programs. This role involves supervising facility tech staff, managing resident living conditions, coordinating non-clinical programming, and ensuring a supportive environment for residents during their recovery journey. The Resident Coordinator collaborates closely with the Program Director, counselors, and volunteers to provide comprehensive support to residents.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facility tech team upholds safety responsibilities for the facility and residents.
  • Provide guidance and training to the tech team for quality care and support of residents in a Christian, 12-Step recovery program.
  • Conduct regular checks of resident bedrooms for cleanliness and compliance with facility guidelines.
  • Inspect residents' clothing and personal property for adherence to facility rules.
  • Serve as the primary non-clinical contact for residents, addressing concerns and providing guidance.
  • Oversee random drug screening procedures and coordinate scheduling with counselors.
  • Assign and monitor housekeeping and ministry assignments for residents based on their levels.
  • Lead orientation sessions for new residents on facility rules and resources.
  • Assist with front desk and dining room coverage as needed.
  • Aid in the disbursement of medications to residents following protocols.
  • Coordinate non-clinical programming and classes with volunteers and counselors.
  • Manage communication with volunteers to ensure they have necessary support.
  • Maintain a safe environment by enforcing facility policies and addressing violations.
  • Participate in safety drills and contribute to safety protocol development.
  • Report safety concerns or incidents to the Program Director immediately.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and staff for coordinated resident care.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program improvement discussions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Program Director.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a substance abuse recovery program or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff, volunteers, and residents.
  • Basic understanding of substance abuse recovery principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in residential facilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
