About the position

The Resident Field Service Technician will be responsible for the effective repair of machinery and components at high levels of quality across Polk, Clear Water, and Mahnomen counties, as well as the surrounding areas. This role requires the technician to complete work in a safe, professional, and timely manner, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and profitably. Depending on their level of expertise, the technician may work under direct supervision. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $30 to $44+, along with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced diesel technicians, subject to terms and conditions. The technician will be tasked with diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, assembling, and servicing equipment as assigned by the supervisor. It is essential to document machine information and repairs completed on work orders, including parts and fluids used. Maintaining a clean work area and caring for all shop tools, machines, and equipment is also a critical responsibility. The technician will need to identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities within the dealership's area of responsibility and maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within that area. Safety is paramount in this role, and the technician must follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and the employee handbook. The technician is expected to conduct themselves professionally in the presence of customers and the community, proactively seek and participate in company-sponsored training to develop their knowledge and skills, and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources. Other duties may be assigned by management as needed, and the technician must perform these duties in a professional and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble, and service equipment as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Document machine information and repairs completed on work orders, including parts and fluids used.
  • Maintain a clean work area and care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities in the dealership's area of responsibility.
  • Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the dealership's area of responsibility.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community in a professional manner.
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings, and other related efforts.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
