About the position

The Resident Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a 44-unit income-producing property in National City, CA. This part-time role requires living on-site and involves various responsibilities including personnel management, leasing, community maintenance, fiscal oversight, and resident relations. The ideal candidate will have prior property management experience and strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Regional Manager to develop an effective team.
• Inspect property common areas, apartment units, and grounds regularly.
• Provide recommendations for improvements to property operations.
• Ensure effective move-in and move-out administration with consistent apartment inspections.
• Submit payroll summary sheets accurately and on time.
• Collect rent payments from current and previous residents.
• Ensure daily community deposits regarding rent collections and miscellaneous income.
• Establish and enforce rental guidelines, unit pricing, and tenant screening criteria.
• Monitor rental activity and provide additional training as necessary.
• Supervise planning and implementation of community recreational and social activities.
• Perform routine audits of on-site files and records and correct issues with the Community Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness around the property, including common areas and amenities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or related coursework preferred.
• 1-2+ years of property management experience required.
• Leasing experience required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Proficiency in AppFolio, Outlook, Excel, Word, and internet savvy.
• Strong customer service skills and professional appearance.
