About the position
The Resident Manager at Maximum Security Self Storage is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the self-storage facility. This role requires the manager to live on-site in a provided apartment and involves managing customer relations, processing tenant agreements, and ensuring the facility is maintained in a clean and orderly manner. The position also includes conducting safety meetings and training sessions, handling financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day operations of the site.
- Required to live on-site in provided apartment.
- Conduct monthly job training sessions.
- Develop customer relations by identifying storage needs and solutions.
- Renting and processing new tenant lease agreements and associated paperwork.
- Vacate departing tenants.
- Perform daily lock checks.
- Receive and process customer payments.
- Make bank deposits as needed.
- Close out system daily, balancing cash, checks and credit cards.
- Make collection calls.
- Manage the Pre-Lien through Lien process.
- Work with vendors to ensure all permits are kept current, including fire, elevator, and backflow devices.
- Ensure the facility is kept clean and orderly.
- Perform general office duties.
- Conduct safety sessions/meetings and follow safety rules and training requirements.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to handle high volume at a fast pace.
- Must be detail oriented, efficient, and highly organized.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experienced in self-storage management.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of basic power tools preferred.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
