About the position

The Resident Monitor (Relief) position at Dismas Charities involves overseeing the custody, security, and control of residents in a community-based adult re-entry program. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and accountability of residents while providing support in their rehabilitation process. The position requires monitoring residents, assisting with program services, and maintaining facility standards, all while working in a meaningful environment that positively impacts the community.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors residents by observing, documenting, and ensuring accountability while enforcing rules and responsibilities.
  • Provides control and documentation of transactions regarding money, medications, first-aid supplies, and other resident-related activities.
  • Assists and supports counselors with resident programming, including electronic monitoring and substance testing.
  • Conducts scheduled inspections of the facility to maintain health, safety, and accountability standards.
  • Ensures physical plant safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all procedures and policies outlined in operational manuals.
  • Participates in required meetings and appointments, which may be off-site.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping duties within the center.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of paid work experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in both routine and emergency situations.
