About the position

The Resident Service Coordinator at The Boston Land Company is responsible for fostering a community atmosphere and enhancing the quality of life for residents. This bilingual role involves initiating social service programs, facilitating resident involvement, and maintaining connections with local social service agencies to support elderly residents. The coordinator will also manage communication with the central office and property management, ensuring that residents' needs are met effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and directs social service programs such as the monthly calendar, educational, and health and recreational programs.
  • Supports and facilitates resident council or planning board to promote resident group consensus and involvement.
  • Develops rapport with local social service agencies and other groups serving the elderly through personal contact and attendance at consortiums.
  • Maintains a comprehensive information and referral system to assist residents in securing necessary community services.
  • Addresses elderly resident issues at multiple sites.
  • Communicates necessary information and reports to the Central Office regarding site situations outside of normal operations.
  • Keeps the Property Manager informed about involvement with the local community.
  • Provides leadership and encouragement for resident participation.
  • Complies with all company issued policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • 4 to 6 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and computer literacy.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
