About the position

The Resident Service Manager at New Bethlehem Catholic Community Services is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the operations of the New Bethlehem Program, which serves as an Enhanced Family Shelter in Kirkland, WA. This program includes two service sites: New Bethlehem Place, which shelters up to 10 families and provides them with housing resources and supportive services, and a Day Center that offers daily living assistance and a safe space for families seeking help. The Program Manager will supervise staff and volunteers, coordinate with service providers, and ensure the quality of services provided to clients. The role requires a commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, as well as the ability to manage emergency situations and respond to client grievances effectively. The Program Manager will also be responsible for fiscal management, including maintaining the annual budget, completing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with funding contracts. This position involves community and program development, where the manager will engage with local service providers, donors, and community members to build relationships and advocate for the needs of the families served. The Program Manager will work on-site, ensuring the daily operations of the New Bethlehem Program run smoothly and effectively, while also maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for clients and staff alike.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the quality of services provided by staff and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer Committee and other staff to manage volunteer needs and applications.
  • Assist with the hiring process for program staff, including interviews and onboarding.
  • Co-facilitate monthly leadership and shelter meetings.
  • Manage the annual budget and ensure timely completion of invoicing and reporting deadlines.
  • Complete grant applications in conjunction with the Grants Manager.
  • Maintain electronic client information and ensure documentation meets quality assurance standards.
  • Respond to client grievances and complaints in a fair manner.
  • Engage with community service providers and coordinate their availability for clients.
  • Participate in advocacy efforts and community meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field, or equivalent experience in social services.
  • At least two years of experience in direct provision of social services, preferably with homeless families.
  • Supervisory experience with employees or volunteers.
  • Experience working with racially and culturally diverse groups.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good office computer skills, including maintaining complex client records.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with community outreach and collaborative projects.
  • Understanding of issues faced by individuals in poverty, including substance abuse and mental health challenges.
