About the position

As a Resident Solutions Architect (RSA) on the Professional Services team at Databricks, you will engage with customers to address their big data challenges using the Databricks platform. This role involves providing data engineering, data science, and cloud technology solutions, ensuring customers derive maximum value from their data. RSAs are responsible for delivering projects according to specifications while maintaining excellent customer service. You will report to the regional Manager/Lead and handle impactful technical projects, including designing reference architectures and guiding customers through transformational big data projects.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a variety of impactful customer technical projects, including designing and building reference architectures.
  • Create how-to guides and productionalize customer use cases.
  • Work with engagement managers to scope professional services work with customer input.
  • Guide strategic customers in implementing transformational big data projects and 3rd party migrations.
  • Consult on architecture and design; bootstrap or implement customer projects for successful adoption of Databricks.
  • Provide escalated support for customer operational issues.
  • Collaborate with Databricks Technical, Project Manager, Architect, and Customer teams to ensure technical components meet customer needs.
  • Work with Engineering and Databricks Customer Support to provide feedback and guide rapid resolution for engagement-specific issues.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics.
  • Proficient in writing code in Python or Scala.
  • Working knowledge of two or more common Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
  • Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
  • Working knowledge of MLOps.
  • Experience in designing and deploying performant end-to-end data architectures.
  • Experience with technical project delivery, managing scope and timelines.
  • Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
  • Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
