About the position

The Clinical Pathology Residency Training Position at Oklahoma State University (OSU) is designed for individuals seeking advanced training in clinical pathology. This residency offers comprehensive exposure to various aspects of clinical pathology, including hematology, cytology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, and histopathology. Residents will engage in clinical diagnostic services, teaching, and seminars, while also having opportunities for independent study and scholarly activities. The program emphasizes hands-on experience and access to a wide range of diagnostic cases, preparing residents for board certification in clinical pathology.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in clinical diagnostic service and rounds.
  • Engage in small-group teaching of DVM students.
  • Attend seminars in conjunction with other residents.
  • Train at a commercial diagnostic laboratory for up to 2 months per year.
  • Access and engage with diagnostic case material from the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL).
  • Prepare for ACVP board certification through access to archived material.

Requirements

  • D.V.M. or equivalent degree in Clinical Pathology.
  • Strong interest in diagnostic clinical pathology.
  • Dependable and motivated individual.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in clinical pathology or related fields.
  • Previous teaching or mentoring experience.
