About the position

The Account Manager is a sales professional responsible for managing client relationships and acquiring new clients within a designated sales territory. This role involves educating and training customers on the features and benefits of video relay services and products, ensuring customer satisfaction, and actively prospecting for new sales opportunities. The Account Manager serves as the face of the company in the local community, providing ongoing support and account management.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the customer's communications needs and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Install video products, routers, switches, TVs, and cables necessary for customer connectivity.
  • Deliver onsite and in-depth customer training on video relay services and Purple products.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with assigned customers in the sales territory.
  • Maintain a mix of written correspondence, telephone contacts, online demonstrations, and onsite visits to stimulate interest in products and services.
  • Proactively manage sales opportunities through the sales process to close.
  • Provide onsite and remote support to customers after initial installation.
  • Develop a network in the local deaf community by soliciting referrals and connecting customers.

Requirements

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and in-depth knowledge of Deaf Culture.
  • Strong technical skills with an understanding of the Internet, firewalls, routers, modems, switches, and hubs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must live within commuting distance of a Purple office or have a local home office with high-speed Internet.
  • Possess a personal automobile and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel extensively by car and occasionally by air.
  • Prior experience in a sales or customer support role is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior installation experience is desirable.
