About The Position

The Guild for Human Services is dedicated to educating, encouraging, and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to help them achieve their full potential and participate meaningfully in the community. As part of this mission, the organization is seeking a dedicated individual to assist the Residential Manager in developing and implementing a comprehensive residential program for assigned individuals. This role involves working closely with a team to create a safe and positive living environment, supporting individuals in their daily activities, and ensuring their well-being and development.

Requirements

  • Regular attendance at work, including during inclement weather.
  • Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment and good interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn.
  • Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals with complex needs.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportation of individuals.
  • Ability to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification.
  • Ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the residence.
  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree is preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Undergo background record check process.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each individual.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of each individual's residential ISP/IEP and daily activity schedule.
  • Attend and support individuals participating in all community experiences.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans.
  • Assist in record keeping and report writing, as assigned.
  • Provide supervision of all individuals while under care.
  • Administer and record individuals' medications, in compliance with MAP.
  • Transport individuals to various locations as needed.
  • Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1:1 responsibilities.
  • Participate in meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed.
  • Engage in de-escalation of individuals.
