The Residential Care Provider (RCP) role at View Point Health involves assisting individuals with severe developmental disabilities in daily living activities within a residential or community setting. Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities in their home or residential facility.
- Provide training in basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills.
- Monitor general resident activity and report behavior/progress of individuals.
- Determine individuals' strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences through observation and record review.
- Assist individuals in problem-solving and daily decision-making.
- Provide training in daily living skills and personal care, including hygiene and cooking.
- Maintain a clean and organized residence.
- Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals.
- Transport individuals to various appointments and activities.
- Supervise self-administration of medications according to agency protocols.
- Document individuals' progress toward goals and objectives in treatment plans.
- Complete all required documentation according to protocols.
- Assist with lifting and carrying groceries and supplies, and moving furniture as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Valid Georgia Driver's License and a clean motor vehicle report.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
- Requires TB Evaluation at pre-employment and annually.
- Requires negative COVID test at employment.
- Technical skills in Word, Excel, and Electronic Health Record (Care Logic).
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and assist disabled individuals with transportation.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with MH/IDD population.
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification (CNA).
- Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification.
- Direct Care Professional (DCP) certification.
- Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification.
