About the position

The Residential Care Provider (RCP) role at View Point Health involves assisting individuals with severe developmental disabilities in daily living activities within a residential or community setting. Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities in their home or residential facility.
  • Provide training in basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills.
  • Monitor general resident activity and report behavior/progress of individuals.
  • Determine individuals' strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences through observation and record review.
  • Assist individuals in problem-solving and daily decision-making.
  • Provide training in daily living skills and personal care, including hygiene and cooking.
  • Maintain a clean and organized residence.
  • Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals.
  • Transport individuals to various appointments and activities.
  • Supervise self-administration of medications according to agency protocols.
  • Document individuals' progress toward goals and objectives in treatment plans.
  • Complete all required documentation according to protocols.
  • Assist with lifting and carrying groceries and supplies, and moving furniture as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License and a clean motor vehicle report.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
  • Requires TB Evaluation at pre-employment and annually.
  • Requires negative COVID test at employment.
  • Technical skills in Word, Excel, and Electronic Health Record (Care Logic).
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and assist disabled individuals with transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with MH/IDD population.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification (CNA).
  • Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification.
  • Direct Care Professional (DCP) certification.
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification.
