About the position

The Residential Construction Purchasing Manager will oversee the purchasing department for a well-respected home builder in St. Louis. This role emphasizes growth, mentorship, and employee development, serving as a vital link between the purchasing and estimating departments.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to accurately estimate material quantities and costs
• Utilize Home Front, Hyphen Solutions, Build Pro, and Supply Pro software to streamline purchasing operations
• Conduct regular market research to identify new vendors and negotiate competitive pricing
• Coordinate with the construction team to ensure seamless coordination of material orders and deliveries
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and generate reports for management review

Requirements

• 2 years of residential production purchasing experience
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings
• Familiarity with Home Front, Hyphen Solutions, Build Pro, and Supply Pro software is a bonus
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
