About the position

David Weekley Homes is seeking enthusiastic individuals with prior residential building experience to join our Builder team in Midlothian, Texas. As a Construction Superintendent/Builder, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction of single-family homes, ensuring that each project is completed to the highest standards of quality while providing an exceptional customer experience. This position requires a blend of managerial oversight, planning, scheduling, and coordination to deliver quality-built homes on time and within budget, adhering to Weekley standards. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire construction process from development through final construction. This includes building rapport with customers and maintaining their satisfaction throughout the building process. You will also be tasked with managing and inspecting the quality of work performed by subcontractors, ensuring that all work meets the established quality standards of David Weekley Homes. Maintaining a professional, clean, and organized job site is essential, as is coordinating and completing homebuyer reviews. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with the sales team and other Weekley team members. You will be involved in the selection, coordination, oversight, and management of people, materials, and budgets. Additionally, you will manage worker productivity and ensure compliance with building and safety codes. Your understanding of contracts, plans, construction methods, and regulations will be vital in preparing daily, monthly, and quarterly reports to track progress and address any issues that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Managerial oversight of home construction
  • Planning, scheduling, implementation & coordination of quality built homes from development through final construction
  • Building rapport with customers and maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the building process
  • Managing and inspecting the quality of work performed by subcontractors
  • Maintaining a professional, clean and organized job site

  • Working closely with the sales team and other Weekley team members
  • Involvement in the selection, coordination, oversight & management of people, materials, and budgets

Requirements

  • 2+ years of residential production building preferred
  • Experience scheduling and supervising subcontractors
  • Experience in effectively communicating with and interacting with customers and teammates
  • Prior experience in handling subcontractor payroll and other budgetary responsibilities
  • Flexibility and problem-solving capabilities
  • College education preferred
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with a variety of people, including upper management, sales, trades, vendors & customers
  • Ability to manage and inspect the quality of the work performed by subcontractors and hold them accountable to quality standards
  • Ability to budget time and priorities effectively to meet established goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure, analyze and resolve problems, and act decisively in unplanned situations and delays
  • Ability to work effectively with technology to handle job costing, payroll & communications with team, subcontractors and customers
