About the position

As a Residential Counselor at Vinfen, you will provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in both small group residential settings and individual living arrangements. Your role will involve collaborating with the individuals served, their families, and other support staff to enhance their quality of life and promote independence. This position includes administering medication, implementing treatment plans, and assisting with daily living activities, while also facilitating community engagement through transportation for outings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Administer medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP).
  • Implement treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including household chores and cooking.
  • Provide transportation for community outings such as shopping and doctor's appointments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or brain injury strongly preferred.
  • Strong time management and writing skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current, valid US driver's license for at least one year required.
  • Must become CPR and First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment.
  • Must become MAP certified within 150 days of employment.
  • Must pass a CORI, reference, national fingerprinting, and driving record check.
