About the position

The Residential Counselor at Mirror Inc. is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to program participants under the supervision of a Clinical Supervisor. This role involves developing and implementing treatment curricula, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, and managing case-related paperwork. The counselor will work in accordance with established policies and state regulations to support clients in achieving their treatment goals, particularly in the context of addiction recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain communication with referral sources regarding client performance in treatment.
  • Create curricula and design treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide group, individual, and family counseling in both residential and outpatient settings.
  • Assist clients in identifying and resolving issues that hinder their treatment progress.
  • Maintain treatment-related paperwork within the electronic client record system.
  • Attend and participate in required staff and supervision meetings.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for clinical coverage at residential facilities.
  • Provide psychoeducational groups focused on addiction, stress management, and related topics.
  • Assist in the collection of client fees as necessary for the assigned program.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, substance abuse counseling, or a closely related field is required.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Licensure at the master's level to provide psychotherapy services or as a licensed Addictions Counselor in Kansas is required.
  • Certification to deliver SB 123 services and assessments is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and maintain a team spirit.
  • Adaptability to change and effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of addiction and various treatment modalities.
  • Experience with individuals in the criminal justice system and those with personality disorders is preferred.
  • Experience providing telehealth services is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with Electronic Health Records.
