About the position

The Residential Counselor position at South Jersey Behavioral Health Resources, Inc. involves providing support and care to adult residents in group homes located in Camden City and Camden County. The role focuses on promoting a normalized environment, fostering self-care and independence, and ensuring the well-being of residents. Counselors will also be responsible for the operation and security of residential facilities during their shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the well-being of the program's adult residents.
• Promote a normalized environment and philosophy of self-care and independence.
• Support consumer wellness and recovery, facilitating eventual reintegration into the community.
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of the agency's residential facilities during assigned shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with four years of related experience, or
• A combination of one or more years of college plus one or more years of related experience totaling four years, or
• Graduation from an accredited college/university with a Bachelor's degree in a mental health, health, or other appropriate human services related discipline.
• Valid driver's license is required.
