About the position

Wise Design Builders is seeking a talented and creative Residential Designer with an architectural emphasis to join their design team. This role focuses on designing innovative and functional residential spaces, collaborating with team members, trade partners, and clients to develop architectural designs that align with client visions while adhering to building codes and project constraints. The designer will work on various remodels and new construction projects, ensuring aesthetic appeal and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create conceptual designs, floor plans, and elevations for single-family homes and custom residential projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Work closely with team members, clients, and trade partners to interpret needs and incorporate feedback into design revisions.
• Prepare detailed construction documents using construction software, ensuring compliance with local building codes and zoning regulations.
• Develop 2D and 3D models, renderings, and presentations to communicate design ideas using design software.
• Conduct site evaluations, space planning, on-site measurements, and feasibility studies to ensure designs are appropriate for specific site conditions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and ADA guidelines.
• Present design concepts and solutions to clients, addressing feedback and providing expert guidance throughout the design process.
• Assist in selecting appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet design and budgetary goals.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, MEP professionals, and other experts to integrate architectural and interior design elements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of residential design experience, with an emphasis on architectural and structural design.
• Expertise in AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Revit, SketchUp, CoConstruct or similar design tools.
• Strong understanding of residential building codes, zoning regulations, construction methods, and materials.
• Ability to create innovative and functional residential designs that reflect the client's lifestyle and aesthetic preferences.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address design challenges and offer creative solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts clearly and effectively to clients and project teams.
• High level of attention to detail in design development, documentation, and construction oversight.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
