About the position

TERI Inc. is dedicated to changing the way the world perceives, assists, and empowers individuals with special needs. The Awake Overnight/Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1 position is a full-time role that involves providing supervision and safety to adults aged 18 and older with developmental disabilities in a 6-bed residential group home during overnight hours. This hands-on position requires the DSP to deliver personal care, programming, Active Treatment, Behavior Modification, and CPR/SFA to residents, adhering to individual education and program plans, especially during emergencies. The role is crucial in ensuring the well-being and safety of the residents while fostering an integrated community environment. The DSP will be responsible for conducting hourly bed checks, maintaining communication logs, documenting medication administration, and reporting any incidents or illnesses. Additionally, the DSP will manage behavior charts and ensure familiarity with each client's individual service plan, which includes behavior intervention programs and specific training objectives. Participation in staff meetings, client reviews, and in-service training is also expected. The DSP will assist with facility cleaning, laundry, and organization, while maintaining compliance with licensing rules and regulations. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 PM to 6:30 AM, with weekend shifts available from 9 PM to 6:30 AM or 9 PM to 8:30 AM. The pay range for this position is $18.00 to $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hourly bed checks to ensure resident safety.
  • Maintain communication logs and document medication administration.
  • Complete incident and illness reports as necessary.
  • Manage behavior management charts and medication documentation.
  • Familiarize oneself with each client's individual service plan, including behavior intervention programs and training objectives.
  • Participate in staff meetings and client reviews.
  • Assist with facility cleaning, laundry, and organization tasks.
  • Stay updated on licensing rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is desirable.
  • Acceptable driving history and personal mode of transportation required.
  • Criminal background check is mandatory.
  • Related experience preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in driving is a plus.
