About the position

The Residential Facility Manager at Brighter Horizon Treatment Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring the physical and emotional needs of the youth are met. This role involves supervising youth, organizing activities, maintaining facility order, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The manager will also be involved in transportation, meal preparation, and documentation related to youth care.

Responsibilities

  • Meet the daily physical and emotional needs of the youth.
  • Keep the facility and vehicle clean and in order.
  • Monitor and supervise the youth at all times.
  • Organize, implement, and supervise the daily activities of the house.
  • Ensure that all the youth's chores are complete and that the house is in order.
  • Encourage youth to stay on task and follow their program.
  • Maintain the daily structure in the facility.
  • Transport youth to various appointments.
  • Deal professionally in crisis situations.
  • Prepare and serve snacks and meals.
  • Enforce the policies and procedures implemented by BHTC.
  • Assist in the proper medication distribution and documentation for the youth according to BHTC policies and procedures.
  • Document in daily logs and communication logs.
  • Assist youth with clothing shopping and personal needs, including haircuts when requested.
  • Issue youth points according to the BHTC point system.
  • Write reports efficiently using the S.M.A.R.T. model.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or related field.
  • Valid child development teaching permit.
  • Completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster Kinship Care Education with at least 100 hours of experience working with youth.
  • Valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor, or Alcohol and Drug Counselor with at least 100 hours of experience working with youth.
  • Valid Vocational Training certificate or documentation demonstrating trade journey person status with at least 100 hours of experience with youth.
  • Previous employment as staff or volunteer at a group home or short-term residential therapeutic program for at least one year.
  • At least 21 years of age.
