About the position

H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation. We are currently seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our team in the Green Bay showroom. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about interior design and have a keen interest in flooring solutions. The Interior Designer will play a crucial role in guiding residential customers through the selection process for flooring and shower doors, ensuring that their design visions are realized from concept to final installation. In this role, the Interior Designer will utilize their design skills to drive sales of H.J. Martin and Son products and services. The successful candidate will specialize in various types of floor coverings, including carpet, hardwood, tile, vinyl, natural stone, and area rugs. They will be responsible for responding to sales inquiries and concerns through various communication channels, including phone, email, and in-person consultations. A thorough understanding of product lines, warranties, and installation guidelines is essential, as is the ability to comprehend job-specific material quantities, labor rates, and productivity rates. Additionally, the Interior Designer will be expected to source and develop relationships with general contractors, retail customers, architects, and other designers. Participation in trade shows outside of regular hours is also a key aspect of this position. The ideal candidate will consistently provide a high level of enthusiastic customer service, ensuring that each client feels valued and supported throughout their design journey. Responsibilities

• Utilize design skills to lead to sales of H.J. Martin and Son products and services.
• Specialize in all types of floor covering including carpet, hardwood, tile, vinyl, natural stone, and area rugs.
• Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person.
• Understand product lines, warranties, and installation guidelines.
• Comprehend job-specific material quantities, labor rates, and productivity rates.
• Source and develop relationships with general contractors, retail customers, architects, and designers.
• Participate in trade shows outside of regularly scheduled hours.
• Consistently provide a high level of enthusiastic customer service.

Requirements

• Sales and customer service experience.
• Microsoft Office efficiency (specifically Word, Outlook, and Excel).

Nice-to-haves

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, or related degree.
• CAD experience preferred, but not required.
• Floor covering related experience.
