About the position

The Residential Group Home Manager at Avidd Community Services of New Jersey is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a residential home serving individuals with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. This role involves managing staff, ensuring the welfare of residents, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment. The manager will also coordinate recreational programs and handle administrative tasks related to the home's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train all staff to ensure completion of their duties.
  • Create and manage the staff schedule.
  • Attend to the physical welfare of the individuals served, including transporting to medical appointments and administering medications.
  • Attend to all personal care needs of residents, including toileting, dental hygiene, bathing, and transferring individuals who utilize wheelchairs.
  • Be a contributing member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and attend Individualized Service Plan (ISP) meetings.
  • Coordinate recreational programs for residents.
  • Complete monthly fire drill reports.
  • Oversee the financial running of the home, including petty cash and individuals' Personal Needs Accounts.
  • Report and coordinate all maintenance needs for the home.
  • Complete individuals' census and attendance records.
  • Review Electronic Health System data daily for completion and accuracy.
  • Be on call and responsible for handling all emergencies and staffing issues.
  • Ensure that the house programs and physical environment provide a safe, enriched, and respectful atmosphere for consumers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of group home management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the IDD community and services.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to undergo pre-employment requirements.
