About the position

The Residential House Manager is responsible for providing a wide range of social services to patients, clients, and their families. This role involves conducting intakes, participating in treatment planning, and performing crisis intervention. The manager assists clients in navigating personal and social challenges, provides supportive counseling, and may take on case management duties. The position requires minimal supervision and includes lead worker functions, such as assigning and reviewing the work of subordinates.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient/client/consumer intakes and participate in treatment team planning.
  • Perform crisis intervention and assist clients in dealing with personal and social problems.
  • Provide supportive counseling to consumers and families, serving as a liaison for social services.
  • Perform case management duties and lead worker functions, including assigning and reviewing subordinates' work.
  • Assist clients in locating and utilizing community resources, including legal, medical, and financial assistance.
  • Counsel clients living in group homes and halfway houses, assisting in pre-release and release planning.
  • Implement and organize the delivery of specific social services within the community.
  • Conduct life skills workshops and programs in behavior management and youth services.
  • Maintain contact with other social service agencies and health care providers to provide information and obtain feedback on clients' progress.
  • Monitor patients' progress towards treatment goals and prepare intake reports and case history records.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency shelter services, along with short-term case management and referral services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a social services related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in a social services related field.
  • High school diploma or GED and three years of experience in a social services related position.
  • One year of experience at the lower level Social Services Technician 2 (SST011) or position equivalent.
